The Go Succeed Start team hosts this Bookkeeping Basics masterclass.

This masterclass is for you if you’re at an early stage of your business start-up journey and you want to understand and learn how to organise your bookkeeping.

We will show you the fundamentals of good bookkeeping, why it is critical to the success of your business and how to get it organised from the start. Without the jargon.

You will learn:

• The most common accounting terms like gross & net profit; costs/overheads; profit & loss account & balance sheet and how they affect you and your business
• The key differences between the 3 different levels of bookkeeping – paper; spreadsheet; and cloud-based
• What records you need to keep for tax purposes and how to keep them the right way
• How Making Tax Digital (MTD) for income tax could affect you
• What a cloud-based bookkeeping system looks like up close – with a live demo to show you how to set it up and how it can make your bookkeeping so much easier
• How to use your bookkeeping system to track your business performance in terms of sales; costs; profit (or loss!); cash flow and more

There will be an opportunity to ask questions about your own business bookkeeping challenges and learn from other real life start-up business cases.

This Go Succeed workshop is open to all individuals in the early stages of their business, throughout Northern Ireland, and is facilitated by Enterprise Northern Ireland.

About the Presenter

Tony Haren is owner/director of Admor Business Solutions, which he founded in 2004.

He is a Member in Practice of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants with over 35 years’ experience in banking/finance and providing financial advice, training and mentoring to business owners.

Tony is a specialist in business finance and corporate governance and is a Business Finance Mentor with Enterprise NI and several local council business programmes. He is also a Senior Credit Reviewer with Credit Review Ireland, where his role is to independently review appeals by small business owners whose bank borrowing requests have been declined.
