With the help of not one but two expert guides, you will uncover multiple fascinating stories about Lewis, his life in Belfast as a boy, and lots of insights into his inspiration. Meet your first guide, TV presenter and local historian, Lolly Spence at C.S. Lewis Square. Lolly will guide you
around the Narnia sculpture park, outlining 'Jack's' family background and how his Ulster connections helped shape the world of Narnia. The second tour takes place a short walk / 5 min drive at St. Mark's church, Dundela. You will be warmly welcomed with hot tea and treats, just as the children in Narnia were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Beaver! St. Mark's Church is known as 'The Lion on the Hill' for good reason. The tour will cover the imagery and influences Lewis gained from this special place. As well as Lewis' family ties to the church, you will hear about the magnificent architecture and the church's unique place in Belfast's past and how today, it is a thriving community hub.
