Enjoy the
traditional craft of hand embroidery at this relaxing workshop. Working on
linen fabric, you’ll use simple embroidery techniques to stitch a pretty flax
flower, creating your own mini piece of textile art to take home with you.
Textile
artist and writer Heather Richardson will guide you through this
beginner-friendly workshop. All materials will be provided, including a small
embroidery hoop to make and display your work.
To mark International Women’s Day, we’re delighted to partner with Northern Ireland Screen’s Digital Film Archive to present a special screening of archival footage exploring women at work and Belfast’s historic linen industry, alongside this workshop.
Archival footage will be screened throughout the workshop, creating a rich backdrop as you stitch and reflect on the stories of women’s work and Belfast’s linen heritage.
