ABOUT THIS EVENT

The Reinventors Network is a vibrant, supportive community for entrepreneurs aged 40+ across the Ards and North Down Borough Council area. It’s a place to connect with like-minded peers, exchange real-world experiences and uncover practical ideas that help you stay confident and competitive in today’s changing business landscape.

Strong Foundations: Getting It Right When Working with Others is the second event in this series of networking events.

By the end of this 2-hour session, participants will be able to:

Understand the Strategic Importance of Collaboration

  • Recognise why structured collaboration is essential for sustainable partnerships and business growth.
  • Reflect on personal experiences to identify what strengthens or undermines collaborative efforts.

Apply Practical Tools to Formalise Agreements

  • Use the Collaboration Risk Radar (T1) to assess vulnerabilities in informal partnerships.
  • Identify and apply key clauses from the Partnership Agreement Checklist (T2) and Director/Shareholder Agreement Checklist (T3) to real-world scenarios.
  • Evaluate investor conditions using the Investor Readiness Checklist (T4) and understand implications for control, governance, and mission alignment.

Identify and Mitigate Common Collaboration Pitfalls

  • Map personal or observed missteps using the Collaboration Pitfall Map (T5).
  • Link pitfalls to preventative clauses and overlays that support emotionally intelligent leadership.

Strengthen Peer Learning and Decision-Making Confidence

  • Engage in scenario-based discussions to explore agreement gaps, role clarity, and exit strategies.
  • Share insights and lessons learned to build a peer-informed understanding of collaboration readiness.

Self-Assess Collaboration Preparedness

  • Complete the Collaboration Readiness Scorecard (T6) to evaluate strategic clarity, agreement preparedness, and emotional readiness.
  • Identify next steps for formalising structures, seeking advice, or re-aligning collaborative goals.
