Let’s Go Visit CAFRE Food Innovation Centre
CAFRE’s Head of Food Technology, Peter Simpson, will welcome a cohort of MEA producers to the Food Innovation Centre at Loughry.
Innovation, product development and creativity are essential for success in the food and drinks industry. The Food Innovation Centre (FIC) at Loughry Campus, provides an environment to stimulate and support the process of idea generation.
The centre comprises product development labs, sensory suites, an ideas hub and a package prototyping lab to assist in the creation of new food concepts to meet the needs of a dynamic marketplace. Robotics and animation in Agri-food, Sensory analysis suite, Behavioural assessment room, Innovation Kitchens, Process Control Laboratory and a Cooking Validation Laboratory.
The purpose of the visit is to:
Give you an understanding of the facilities you can access
Realise the possibilities for working with CAFRE
Learn more about the processes involved in product refinement and testing and new product development
Find out about the support, funding and facilities available to you
Seasoned business consultant Deirdre Fitzpatrick will be with us on the visit to facilitate further discussions related to what you learn or indeed ideas the day might ignite.
