Biography

Musician, producer, & beat maker, Sharkey (Washington, DC), learned to play instruments at the early age of 10. Since then he signed a major label deal with Elektra while also working and performing with such heavyweights as Eminem, The Black Eyed Peas, Rick Rubin, and Wyclef Jean, including motion picture soundtrack credits from Adam Sandler's "Big Daddy", Fox TV's "House", Vin Diesel's "Strays" and handfuls of song appearances in Rockstar and XBOX 360 video games. As a producer, Sharkey has been tapped by some of the biggest artists across genres over the past two decades for production work.

Sharkey's debut solo album on Babygrande Records, 'Sharkey's Machine' was credited by The Washington Post as one of "The Top 10 Best Records of…" that year. A hip-hop heavy, electronica, and rock-laden reflection of his diverse musicality, Sharkey's Machine features guest appearances by Cannibal Ox, The Pharcyde, Jean Grae, Grand Puba (of Brand Nubian) and Butterfly (of Grammy Award winning group Digable Planets) and features co-production by Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys) and Mickey Petralia (Beck). Sharkey's second album release on Babygrande, 'Monster Maker' was given a B+ by Entertainment Weekly and 4 out of 5 stars from Urb Magazine. Washington, DC's prestigious Capitol Hill "Hilly's" award was awarded to Sharkey in 2011 for Artist/Artisan of the year, which proves Sharkey's diversity as one of music's most eclectic and constantly evolving artists.
